Guard Your Heart
Proverbs says, “My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

It is amazing to me how easy it is to get sidetracked. Everything has been going great for the past few weeks and all of a sudden, BOOM! Life gets busy and you get knocked out of your normal routine, and it is so difficult to get back on track.
I have been doing some prayer exercises for the past four weeks that have had a great impact on me. Well, once I got back from Camp Paran with the children’s ministry it was time to move to the new house, and my routine got destroyed. This new house has kept me from my routine of prayer for a week. And because of the lack of prayer in my life, my guard has gotten some holes in it and has become weak.
That is why I reflect upon this passage from the book of Proverbs. Solomon writes, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” That is pretty important stuff, “the wellspring of life.” I don’t know about you, but that makes me want to guard my heart. It is the wellspring, the very essence of life. Just like it is good to participate in physical activity to keep your physical heart healthy; it is just as important to participate in spiritual activity to keep our spiritual heart healthy and guarded.
My prayer is that, as fellow brothers and sister, we will help to guard each other’s hearts as we walk this journey together.
God Bless!

What a great way to start my day to be reminded that we all need to guard our hearts. It still amazes me how much GOD loves us and will bring us back to where we need to be when we falter, if we will only listen. I can see GOD working in your life and the impact you are having on all of us both the youth and the leaders. Thank you for caring enough to continue to let GOD work in your life and setting such a great example of us all.

You are SO right, PJ. Chris and I have had a lot of things come up over the past couple of months, and haven’t been as active at church lately. It really leaves you flailing for air being away from other Christians in fellowship and service. If I wasn’t on my knees every morning and evening, I don’t think I would have made it this far. Great post!

Hey,
Just wanted to say thankyou for just always being there for me in my time of need. I am so blessed to know you and to have you as a pastor and friend. Things aren’t the best right now but it is nice to know that I have someone who always takes the time to check up on me. So, thankyou!
God Bless You!
