Just One Drop

So I have started this new blog to simplify my life. I figure if you really want to know what is going on you can come here, and not be exposed to all the junk that is on myspace, xanga, facebook; you pick your poison. I just want a place to write what is on my heart, and whether you find it interesting or not, my hope is that it will impact you in some way.

Just one drop, that's all it takes. I see the potential of the youth today and I am convinced that they do not see it in themselves. I was once on a lake in central Georgia during a huge rain storm. After the storm had passed the lake became completely flat. I mean there was not one bit of movement on the surface of the water. As I sat there looking at a perfect reflection of the sky above with its remaining clouds and the opposite shore line in the distance, a single drop of water fell from a leaf of a nearby tree and slammed into the lake. I watched as the ripples from that one drop spread through the cove I was on. That one drop caused ripples to travel through out the cove and beyond into the main body of the lake.

That is the power that you possess as a young person, a teenager, whatever you want to categorize yourself as. This world might be big, but you can make ripples that travel the globe. You have limitless potential to impact the world for good or you can impact it in a negative way, but you will impact it. The decision is yours. Your parents can't make it for you. Your teachers can't make it for you. Your friends can't make it for you. Your pastor can't even make for you. All those people are here to help, but you must make the decision and it must become your own. You see, God is looking to the youth of the world to make an impact. Stop waiting for everyone else to do something. Rise up and take action. God is counting on you.

May God bless you and keep you. May He let His face shine upon you and give you peace.

  4. Joel. I love the way you love God, my children, and the youth. The “one drop” you have dropped in our lives has already had a ripple effect. You are in our prayers and I know the Lord will continue to anoint your ministry, guide you in your decision-making and give you powerful – albeit simple – words to pour into our youth.

  5. Hey Man…. Are we ever going to play flag football again?????? Hope your doing well…..
